Day 1

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Commence your Tanzanian safari adventure with an early morning pick-up in Arusha, initiating a picturesque drive through the Masai Steppe via Makuyuni Junction en route to the expansive Tarangire National Park. As the fifth largest park in Tanzania, Tarangire unfolds before you, showcasing a vast landscape adorned by majestic Baobab trees and the impressive presence of large elephant herds. A paradise for admirers of these magnificent creatures and other substantial game, Tarangire provides a captivating glimpse into the breathtaking beauty of African wildlife.

While navigating the park, be enthralled by the plethora of animal species, including rare breeds like the Oryx and hirolas, as well as a diverse array of bird species. Tarangire National Park stands as a sanctuary for wildlife enthusiasts, ensuring unforgettable encounters with both iconic and elusive creatures.

In the afternoon, bid farewell to the park and transition to your chosen accommodation for the night. Opt for the splendid Sangaiwe Tented Camp, offering panoramic views over the plains and the distant Lake Burunge, or select a transfer to Karatu, where a cozy lodge eagerly awaits to provide a delightful dinner and a tranquil overnight stay. Your day is made complete with inclusive lunch and dinner, ensuring a gratifying and immersive safari experience.

Day 2

Tarangire Area – Ngorongoro Crate

Commence your day with a delightful early morning breakfast at your camp, surrounded by the serene beauty of the sunrise. Following this, complete the check-out process and set out on a picturesque drive towards the renowned Ngorongoro Crater, often hailed as the 8th Wonder of the World. Upon reaching the destination, finalize the registration at the Loduare Main Gate before descending into the Crater for a captivating game drive, complemented by a picnic lunch on the crater floor.

Ngorongoro Crater stands as a global marvel, holding the distinction of being the largest intact volcanic caldera and serving as a natural haven for some of Africa’s most densely populated animal communities. Notably, it is a rare location on Earth where the elusive black rhino can be observed in its natural habitat. The crater’s 2000 ft. high walls contribute to a distinctive ecosystem, restricting animal migration and ensuring an extraordinary concentration of wildlife.

Throughout your game drive, anticipate encounters with a diverse array of species, including lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, and a myriad of bird species. With the sharp eyes of your safari guide, there’s even a chance to witness the Big 5 in a single game drive, a testament to the richness of Ngorongoro’s biodiversity.

As the afternoon unfolds, ascend to the Crater rim and choose to check in at an optional lodge (at an additional cost) or opt for the convenience of our regular lodge at Karatu, located just outside the Conservation Area near the gate. Revel in an overnight stay at Country Lodge in Karatu or a similar accommodation, with all meals included, ensuring a comfortable and gratifying continuation of your Tanzanian safari experience.

Day 3

Lake Manyara - Transfer to Arusha Overnight / Departure

Embark on the final day of your 3-day Tanzania safari with a fulfilling early morning breakfast at the lodge, or opt for added convenience by carrying a packed breakfast and lunch for the day’s adventures. Commence your descent into the floor of the Great Rift Valley, where the next destination awaits – Lake Manyara National Park.

The name “Manyara” originates from the Maa language of the Masai people, referencing the abundant euphorbia tirucalli tree species in the area, traditionally used by the nomadic Masai to create protective hedges for their homesteads and livestock. The park is renowned for these trees and its iconic tree-climbing lions, often found indulging in an afternoon siesta on the branches. Encounter a variety of other animals, including impalas, giraffes, buffaloes, and dik-diks, as you explore this evergreen park.

Upon entering the park, a lush, green forest fed by underground water streams greets you, providing a perfect habitat for Blue monkeys, baboons, bushbucks, and large elephants seeking shelter from the afternoon sun. Observe these majestic creatures grazing on green branches, twigs, and herbs. Explore the Hippo pools and the shores of Lake Manyara, witnessing hippos and a myriad of aquatic birds, including vibrant flamingoes, pelicans, Egyptian geese, and cormorants.

Engage in game drives until midday before returning to Arusha. Upon your return, choose to be dropped off at your Arusha hotel or, if you are departing on this day, take advantage of the nominal fee for transportation to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Enjoy a packed lunch and dinner during your journey.

This concludes your enriching 3-day safari in Tanzania from Arusha. Note that airport transfers and accommodation in Arusha before the safari can be arranged at your request.
